London Seafood Festival

London's first Seafood Festival is arriving at Battersea Power Station from today, and you should definitely go. On until Sunday 24th June, make the trip over to the south of the river for a series of seafood takeovers from great restaurants (Cinnamon Kitchen, Wright Bros, Tonkotsu and No. 29 Power Station West), masterclasses and lots of lovely wines, and if you visit from Friday evening there's music, street food, kids activities, film screenings and cooking demos all taking place on the terrace outside - not to mention an AMAZING Louisiana style crayfish boil.

I was lucky enough to have a little preview last night; here's a few highlights...

Fabulous oysters from my faves, Wright Bros, perfectly paired with delicious English sparkling wine, Ridgeview. Learn to shuck them yourself with their masterclass aboard a Thames Clipper. I've done the Wright Bros masterclass myself before and would highly recommend: 11/10. And, it's on a boat; what's not to love?

You should also grab the last few tickets for the Crayfish Boil ASAP. £40 will get you 90 minutes and a seat at the table of this incredible Louisiana-style seafood feast where mountains of steaming crayfish, corn and potatoes are yours to gorge on to your heart's content, dipping the lot in melted butter and/or sriracha mayo as you go. Oh, and you'll get two beers too.

If you're not sure about how to tackle the little critters, never fear for this lady will be on hand to guide you through all the twisting and sucking.

PS. I strongly advise you pop your head in to Vagabond wines (sorry, their marine wine matching class is SOLD OUT) to get yourself a glass or two of this remarkable rose. A rose for people who say they don't like rose, and English to boot.
